Finally, a Step Forward!

by steve

Today, we finally got a phone call letting us know that our licensing is complete! We are now officially licensed for foster/adoptive care in Watauga County, NC.

Praise the Lord!

Of course, the potential move for us (see one of our previous posts) still causes us to have to wait before we can be seriously considered for taking in any child as an actual placement (although we will likely do some respite care). And with regard to that, I finally found out that actual interviews for the job I’m seeking aren’t even going to be held until late October. That means it will likely be at least another month before we can move forward with any actual foster/adoptive placement possibilities (not that there are any possibilities immediately on the horizon, but you never know when that special little child will need our love).

Thank you to each of our readers who have prayed for us during the licensing process. I have to admit it’s a bit surreal right now knowing that we are officially licensed. The entire process took, for us, about eight months. All that waiting is over, and now we…wait ;)

A big ‘Yee Haw’ from Texas! You have certainly been patiently waiting. Respite is a great option, giving you the slightest peek into what it will be like to add one or two more.

I wouldn’t be surprised a bit if you get a phone call for a foster/adoptive placement the very first week you are available. (If that job doesn’t call you elsewhere :))

Congrats on finishing the licensing race and beginning the marathon.

    Your friend,
    Laura

    Laura,

Thank you so much for your encouraging comment! Christy and I are blessed by your interaction here and by your blog, as well.

We’ve certainly enjoyed reading your accounts of Prince Caspian these last couple of weeks and we rejoice with you. :)
