The Name of the Game is “Wait”

by steve

It’s always a waiting game, it seems. We are waiting for a court hearing to take place. DSS needs to go before a judge to finalize permanency plans. There are one or two possible “glitches” to the idea of us adopting Hope Giver that I don’t feel at liberty to disclose here. However, your prayers are appreciated.

The possible glitches have nothing to do with us or our home. They are completely unrelated to us. But they could get in the way of us being the permanent plan.

The hearing may take place in December, but could possibly be in January. Even if we are determined to be the placement for Hope Giver, no talk of transition will even be happening until after this next hearing.

Thank you all for your continued prayers, and I wish we had more news (and specifically better news) to report at this time. But we’re learning how to wait through these processes, and it’s actually not as hard as it seems it might be. Sometimes ;)

Hope Giver is here at our house for respite care this evening, spending the night, and through the day tomorrow. We are so delighted to have her here again!! I praise God for every chance that we get with her, even though we never know which time could be our last. We continue to hold hope, though, that it never will be the last time.

Yes, the joys of waiting. As we have begun adoption paperwork, I have been realizing how close we are to a year since our process with Little Buddy began! And truthfully, we’re not much closer to starting that process than we were when we got him. There have been moments of stress over the thought of losing him, but there is also great hope that we won’t. I suppose all of this is a little easier on me because we get to enjoy his presence all the time. I imagine how difficult it must be to have to let go each time she leaves. Wow. May the Lord’s perfect will be fulfilled in your lives. How thankful I am that he is sovereign over this whole crazy thing called “foster parenting!”

    Steve & Christy -

Finally have the opportunity to come over and comment on your news… I’m so happy to hear that you are handling the wait much better than I am, of late :)…

I’m praying for some good news and certainly wishing it would come sooner rather than later.

    Your friend,
    Laura
