I have come across some very incredible stories over the past few days. The two that stand out to me are written by people that have experienced the love of God through the gift of fostering or adoption. As I sit here listening to Selah singing Silent Night, I am reminded of the child that was taken care of by two people that did not plan for this child, but did what God willed for their lives and in turn had an important role to play in bringing our Savior into this world.
We do not know who or what that little person will become that we are taking under our wing, so to speak. We only walk the path that God has willed for our lives obediently and confident He has an incredible plan for their lives.
Barry and Michelle Galyean are members of our local homeschool group. We have not had the opportunity to meet them in person, but we hope to do so in the near future. They provided us with an incredible article about their family’s quest to adopt a child from Guatemala. It is written for Shaohannah’s Hope, the organization created by Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman. The Galyean’s story is one of God’s love and His attentiveness to the details of our lives. Go read their story. You will be blessed.
The other post that I want to share is from a blog that I frequently read and has blessed me in so many ways. Melody at Slurping Life has written a post about an experience while fostering one of her children. Melody is an incredible writer and has me either laughing out loud or expressing emotions that touch the very depth of me. This is one of those posts. You will be encouraged and in awe of the beauty behind this story.
I hope you enjoy reading about these wonderful families as much as I did. For me, it has helped to solidify the real reason why we are so passionate about loving each child that comes through our doors. It is because of Jesus. He came to be that which we are drawn to love. In loving them, we are loving Him. I don’t know about you, but the mere thought of that statement, brings a sense of complete joy to my heart.
Have a beautiful day!

Christy, what a beautiful post. Thank you for linking to my story and for your kind words about my blog. I still get chills when I think about that Christmas Eve.
Blessings to you and your family as you do God’s work through fostering/adopting children. Every child should feel wanted, loved.
