Those were the tearful words of an amazing, loving foster mother calling us to let us know that Hope Giver is ours to adopt!!!!!
We will write more later, but needed to let everyone know the wonderful news.
And I will say more about this later, but to Hope Giver’s foster mother, how can we possibly say “thank you” strongly enough? You have loved this girl from birth and loved her enough to let us take over the task of parenting her. If you’re reading this, Foster Mom, we love you and look forward to you being a wonderful “grandmother” to our little girl!

I can’t tell you how happy I am for you. I know you are probably about to bounce off of the walls right now. Praise the Lord for answered prayer.

With Grateful tears in our eyes we say “Thank You Lord Jesus!” How precious we are about to become grandparents again. Keep us informed about “delivery date”.

Congrats! That’s stupendous news.
Here’s a rather off topic question, but I’m curious if you care to answer. Why would the foster mother be the first to tell you and your or the girl’s social worker? Was the foster mom’s social worker just more on top of things, or is there an odd process that communicates things that way in your part of the country? Was she just the first/only one at the hearing to call you?

All, thank you all for the many responses here! We are, obviously, in a flurry of emails, phone calls, blog posts, and still pinching ourselves to make sure this is all real!!
MamasBoy, you definitely could say there’s an “odd system” in place here!
It’s just a relatively small county with a small dept. of social services, and everyone knows everyone else!
There was one social worker for the case, so it wasn’t a matter of anyone’s social worker being more on the ball than anyone else’s.
We stayed here with Hope Giver so the foster mom could go to the hearing. As soon as she got out of the hearing, she called. Everyone else was there, too, but they all knew she would call and let us know. We’re just kind of that informal here in the mountains

I remember the day we got the letter from our adoption agency saying, “Come and get her!” I bounced off the walls, too…37 years ago.
