Finally…

I am holding in my hands the adoption decree for our sweet Hope Giver (well….I actually had to put it down to write this post, but you get the picture).  She is finally ours….completely and totally ours! After weeks (months actually) of checking the mailbox every day, we can finally say that she is our daughter. We are so excited!!

A very special thing happened as well….it occurred on her birthday. So, the day of her birth and the day she officially became our daughter will be celebrated at the same time…God is so very good to us!

She will have an opportunity to be given a new birth certificate (with our names listed as her parents and her name change) by the state. And of course, we will be celebrating “big time” around here for quite a while!!

We appreciate everyone’s support through this journey—she is the child we have been praying about and waiting to receive for quite a while now—and she is SO worth the wait!!

Again, I will say, God is so good to us—He is faithful to give us the desires of our hearts and He has blessed us with an incredible child that we have the privilege to raise and love.

May your lives be blessed today as well!

    Congratulations, guys. How awesome is the sovereignty of God that He would orchestrate the adoption to fall precisely on her birthday. You guys are blessed indeed. Three more to go to catch up with us. :)

    rejoicing with you. joanna is so excited to have a new little cousin. last night in the car she said, “i’m sad tonight. do you know why i’m sad?” “no”, i said. and she replied, “because we’re not in north carolina, and i miss being there.” one year ago we were there, and what a wonderful vacation time we had with you. no one ever guessed at that time that one year later, hope giver would be in your lives. (can we use her real name yet online? although i really really like the hope-giver name…)
